SOLHAGAPARKEN

Peaceful and homelike

Huddinge Municipality in Sweden has a large need for care home apartments. In close collaboration with the developer, operator and municipality, we have turned a struggling residential project into a future-proof care home in Masmo, close to green areas, sea, subway station and service.

The building design creates a safe and homelike feeling for the elderly, as well as the relatives visiting. The facility is also planned to be an optimal work environment for the care operator staff.

Evidence based design

The design concept for Altura’s care homes is based on research with a special focus on dementia. Therefore, Solhagaparken’s homely environment is planned to promote social interaction and easy navigation.

The user-centric design includes higher than average ceiling height, open spaces and greenery. To increase accessibility to fresh air and nature for the elderly, the care home has a heated, peaceful garden and balconies.

Solhagaparken care home is being developed in collaboration with SHH Bostad and Balder Storstad.

Our concept is based on methodical research, years of experience from care home operations and meticulous optimisation of a myriad of design and production details that all add up to something that I hope will make a difference.”
